But now after trying, I find this app completely convincing, and ever since downloading I use it daily.Īs Actwolf described below, it's a brilliant UI concept, look and feel. I am a heavy OmniFocus user and didn't think I'd have much use for it. Well this got to be the GTD app with the best UI concept ever.Īctually I downloaded DayMap only because it was on sale, well, it looked interesting from screenshots and videos.

DAYMAP APP MANUAL

maybe: auto re-sort an individual day, say alphabetically, while keeping manual sort option

Android app & sync (or maybe import/export to Reminders for workaround sync) month filters: hide-repeating tasks, show only tasks which contain search field text enhanced repeats: every # days, every Mon, Wed, Fri, …, -ideally even: every # workdays subtler (grey?) “Scheduled” indicator - RED suggests priority, but neighboring tasks in the project list might be much more important but harder to schedule. sort tasks & Calendar events: drag “Pick Up Dry Cleaning ” task after “8:00 AM - Meeting” and before “7:30 PM Restaurant Dinner” keyboard shortcuts: move to tomorrow, schedule Today, unschedule, navigation between columns ✓ show/hide a particular # days of completed items or none “!!” lists any task which contains “!!” in its title or notes do 2 laundry loads Tuesday, instead of 1 each Monday & Tuesday, skip Wed.) ✓ delete, reschedule repeat tasks individually ✓ column layout of projects +/- week/month schedule (EXCELLENT) The multi-column layout keeps everything from mingling into a long, overwhelming list. Make my working day easier.ĭayMap excels by offering big picture “Forest” view of your projects and your weekly/monthly schedule without losing sight of the individual “Trees” of each project and each day.

DAYMAP APP SOFTWARE

Nice, uncluttered software, doing what software should do.

I note some complaints further down the page about a demo version not being available, but the user video on the developers website was more than enough detail to help me decide to buy. I expect TD's ability to automatically move uncompleted tasks on to the following day might be a big ask, but that would be the icing on the cake for me. It's a lot like the web based TeuxDeux (TD), but that is twice the cost, paid year on year, with only marginal extra functionality.īelow this, WChiseler has posted a really good in depth review that covers all the functionality and wishlist bases, and all I can add is it would be nice to be able to change font and font colour just to jazz the screen up a bit, oh, and startup at login, that would be nice too. With that in mind, I've literally tried every piece of project and todo software on Macupdate over the past ten years and couldn't settle on any of them.ĭaymap suits the way I work, holds all the info I need for my working day and in its present form (v2.1.1) it has just cleared up my desktop, and my head in just half an hour. The GTD approach is far too prissy for me, too much wasted energy (and too much of a distraction from what I should be doing). I write for a living, I have umpteen mini projects on the go, and I'm also a visual person.
